Estes Park Colorado - A Jewl in the Heart of the Rocky Mountains
Estes Park is located only 10 minutes away from the entrances to the Rocky Mountains National Park. It is considered a high mountain valley. According to the 2006 census, the estimated population for the city was 6,006. The city has become a popular summer resort and the unofficial control center for the Rocky Mountain National Park.
Estes Park is considered to have moderate climate. The conditions can change quickly from hot and sunny to cold and stormy. It is important when visiting that you pack for all types of weather. During summer temperatures average in the mid 80’s while in the winter temperatures can drop to the low 40’s. Snow is common in the higher elevations and is also common during winter.

Estes Park is filled with beautiful scenic mountain views, a great moderate climate, and profuse wildlife. Adventure is a main theme and attraction in the city. One of the top things to do in the city is to rock climb. There are plenty of edges and slabs to enjoy from. The area is a rock climbers dream since it has the terrain and consistency that extreme climbers look for.
From late June to mid- August the town hosts a summer entertainment series. There are several free summer music programs. Most of the events on this series take place in the Performance Park Amphitheater. They provide audiences with several musical styles such as jazz, folk, bluegrass, and rock. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy some great music and fun.
