The city of Key West is off the southern shore of Florida. Key West is filled with vibrant colors characters that are both wild and warm. Many consider the city to be a true paradise. In the 2000 census, the city was estimated to have a population of 25,478 people.

Although many would not even consider stepping a foot onto a cemetery, this cemetery is actually quite interesting. It is considered a landmark and includes unique headstones filled with witty sailor comments and charm. If this is not your taste for entertainment, the city offers plenty of festivals, art, and theater for all ages.

Currently 4 hotels have completed the online Environmental Audit and earned the Green Eco-Leaf Rating while the other 6 properties are purported to be "Green" but have not yet shared their eco-initiatives with iStayGreen.org.
In Key West there are 53 properties where the environmentally friendliness is unknown and they have not yet verified their sustainability efforts with iStayGreen.org. In the state of Florida there is a total of 3203 lodging properties listed in the iStayGreen.org directory of which 321 are represented as eco-friendly. Currently there are 98 lodging properties that have earned the Green Eco-Leaf Rating. Included in the properties working toward a more sustainable travel future are Key West hotels, Key West resorts, Key West bed & breakfasts, and Key West extended stay accommodations.
