Park City was originally founded as a mining town and is now considered to be one of the two major resort towns in Utah. The population for the town, according to the 2000 census, was 7,371. The three main ski resorts in Park City are the Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley Resort, and The Canyons Resort.

Park City also offers art and cultural activities. The Kimball Art Center is a venue that provides visual arts in an intimate setting. The center produces exciting activities and art exhibits for all art lovers. The Kimball Art Center also provides the community with educational programs and hosts a number of art events year long.
