To qualify for the Green Eco-Leaf Rating St. Regis Resort, Aspen completed an audit of their property's compliance with over 70 unique eco-initiatives. Environmentally friendly measures that are reviewed include energy efficiency, water conservation, recycling, enviromentally safe cleaning, reduction of waste, ongoing maintenance, purchasing habits, plus many other factors. In it's efforts to create a more sustainable travel future and reduce their impact on our environment, St. Regis Resort, Aspen employs 35 eco-initiatives.

Property uses a product called HeatSavr which acts as thermal blanket and slows heat loss from heated pools. Solar e-tube project is in progress and designed to reduce natural gas usages. Kitchen hood fans use Intellihood VFD sensors to run fans off of parameters instead of full out. Central Plant also uses variable frequency drives wherever possible to save energy. In room recycling is in the works and should roll out in 2009
