This system incorporates a combination of Solar Panels, Heat Pumps and a High Efficiency Boiler, since it's installation in May of 2008 the system, the first of it's kind in Vancouver, has reduced the hotel's natural gas consumption by over 30%. The hotel is the recipient of two environmental awards in 2008; the "Green Table" award and the "Sustainable Seafood Award" presented to it's O'Doul's Restaurant. In 2009 the hotel chose to purchase a portion of it's electrical power from Bullfrog Energy, and organization promoting the use of wind power and low impact hydro power in the province of British Columbia. Working with the Cascadia Green Building Council, The Listel Hotel is featured on their "Green Roof Tour" for 2009. |
