There are 88 properties currently listed in Vancouver. At this time there are 33 "Green" lodging properties listed of which 10 properties have completed the iStayGreen Audit. The Listel Hotel has been awarded a 4 Green Eco-Leaf Rating.
To qualify for the Green Eco-Leaf Rating The Listel Hotel completed an audit of their property's compliance with over 70 unique eco-initiatives. Environmentally friendly measures that are reviewed include energy efficiency, water conservation, recycling, enviromentally safe cleaning, reduction of waste, ongoing maintenance, purchasing habits, plus many other factors. In it's efforts to create a more sustainable travel future and reduce their impact on our environment, The Listel Hotel employs 47 eco-initiatives.

The Listel Hotel has recently made a significant Capital Investment in it's hot water heating system. This system incorporates a combination of Solar Panels, Heat Pumps and a High Efficiency Boiler, since it's installation in May of 2008 the system, the first of it's kind in Vancouver, has reduced the hotel's natural gas consumption by over 30%.
The hotel is the recipient of two environmental awards in 2008; the "Green Table" award and the "Sustainable Seafood Award" presented to it's O'Doul's Restaurant. In 2009 the hotel chose to purchase a portion of it's electrical power from Bullfrog Energy, and organization promoting the use of wind power and low impact hydro power in the province of British Columbia.
Working with the Cascadia Green Building Council, The Listel Hotel is featured on their "Green Roof Tour" for 2009.
