In case you have not noticed, it's hip to be "green!" Let's walk the talk! Our hotel has committed to continuing or implementing the following: Linen and Towel Reuse program in guest rooms Recycle trash in guest room including back-of-the-house recycling program for trash collected from the guest rooms Maintenance staff training on conservation and energy procedures, including monitoring water consumption on a monthly basis to track the progress with focus on reducing energy 5% over the next 18 months Recycling: Paper Plastic Glass Batteries - use rechargeable batteries Cardboard Food waste Metals Toners Using compact fluorescent light bulbs in guestrooms and public areas Updating Green Team success in staff meetings Involving every employee Communicating savings and our success with all staff Quick Hits: Using a safer cleaning, sanitizer, paint, etc. for the environment Buying recycled paper products and using them throughout the hotel Turning off water taps while cleaning restrooms Setting temperature for guest rooms; all lights off when departing Using dishwashers and washing machines with FULL loads only Donating leftover food, amenities and other "extras" to local shelters Closing windows and doors when HVAC units are running Donating out of service linens to local charities Using recycled paper products in place of Styrofoam for breakfast Servicing boilers regularly to ensure efficient combustion Using laundry detergent and air fresheners that have no toxic or potentially hazardous chemicals Sending invoices for Direct Bill via email Promoting dry erase boards instead of flipcharts Offering to collect plastic name tags/lanyards after meetings for recycling Currently, 35% of businesses and residents recycle.
