We are an EPA Green Power Partner We are a certified member of One Percent for the Planet We 100% carbon neutral More details below: •Treasure Mountain Inn has been aggressively recycling since 1996. Recycling centers can be found at each entry point, in the lobby and in each room. TMI also sorts garbage for additional recyclables. Treasure Mountain Inn has been awarded twice as the Utah Business recycler of the year (2005 & 2006) •TMI has significantly reduced energy consumption by replacing over 2000 light fixtures with fluorescent and/or LED lighting, installing EnergyStar appliances, utilizing motion sensors and timers, and installing high-efficiency heat and cooling systems. •TMI has reduced water consumption by installing water-conserving shower heads, faucets and toilets. The Inn also encourages guests to re-use their towels, bed and linens. In the public areas, waterless urinals in the Men's bathroom are conservatively estimated to save 40,000 gallons per year. In 2006, TMI replaced the aging pool and Jacuzzi with a therapy spa that utilizes an earth-friendly salinity system. •Since 2003, the Inn has reduced paper consumption by streamlining paperwork, emphasizing electronic documents, on-line banking, reducing paper sizes, dual sided printing, and minimizing. print marketing collateral. When paper is required, TMI uses only recycled paper. •The Inn purchases 100% of its electric (781,200KWH) as Wind Power making it a Visionary level partner in the Utah Power Blue Sky Program. Treasure Mountain Inn is also the first Utah hotel to go carbon neutral by offsetting its remaining carbon footprint--estimated to be 593.6 tons-- with Carbon Offsets from Clean Air-Cool Planet. Members pledge to donate at least 1% of their revenues to environmental organizations.
