At Moevenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre, eco-initiatives are just a logical continuation of the principles by which the property was build in the first place in 2006. The heating/cooling systems, the materials, the technology all contribute in making the hotel a green building. The hotel is contracted with a power supplier that uses 100% renewable energy, all light bulbs are new gen energy-saving, all waste is separated, especially the plastics from the organic which is not an easy thing in a hotel. Naturally our guests are put to contribution as they are requested to decide whether they want their linen and towels to be replaced everyday. Many areas are equipped with move sensors, especially in storage rooms and offices. All rooms and public areas where water is used, are equipped with water-saving devices, including sensors. Plans in 2010 include the use of an electricity powered shuttle van and energy-saving kitchen appliances. Moevenpick Hotels and Resorts is not only advocating environmentally sound initiatives, community projects and fair treatment and equality are also recurring themes in the way we do business.
