Our organic flower and herb gardens and tastefully decorated grounds offer a superb atmosphere for relaxation. Every morning guests are treated to a hot multi-course savory breakfast made from seasonal ingredients. Most of the vegetables, fruits and eggs come from area farms or from the Inn's own organic garden. Your innkeepers have developed special relationships with local farmers and fisherman to ensure the very best produce, meats, fish, and cheeses available are served each day. Local farms provide us with hormone free milk and cream, delivered weekly by our 'milk' man. Several Island farms provide us with free range chicken and duck eggs. Our home brewed coffee is locally roasted from the San Juan Coffee Roasting company, specializing in fresh roasting exotic Estate Grown coffees from around the world. They deliver coffee to us each week – hot out of the roaster. Our selection of specialty loose teas come from the mountains of China, the jungles of Japan, and the coasts of Canada and Washington State, and are hand selected by From Leaf to Cup. For dinners and special catering events, the Inn serves sustainable lamb, beef, and fish from the Island Farms. We have adapted many of our recipes to accommodate guests on vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, and low fat diets. Living on an Island focuses our attention more acutely on conservation in everything we do. We have implemented a recycling program t/o the Inn - even in guest rooms, replaced kitchen and laundry appliances with those with energy star ratings, installed 1.6 gallon low-flush toilets, low water usage showers and drip irrigation system for our gardens, and switched to organic cleaners and fluorescent lighting whenever possible.
