Environmentally friendly measures that are reviewed include energy efficiency, water conservation, recycling, enviromentally safe cleaning, reduction of waste, ongoing maintenance, purchasing habits, plus many other factors. In it's efforts to create a more sustainable travel future and reduce their impact on our environment, Viceroy Snowmass employs 46 eco-initiatives.

Strongly promote public transportation, there is no on-site parking for employees, with bus stops near the property and a an electric car shuttle (purchased and operated by us) to shuttle employees from bus stop up to the property.

Our HVAC systems are monitored by a BAC, allowing our engineering department to have a close watch on inefficiences and be able to take corrective action. It also allows us to easily and accurately set temperatures on the different aspects of the system.

We have a full time salaried member of our staff who is dedicated to keeping the hotel 'Green.' His title is Director of Sustainability, and he is constantly looking for new ways to keep on the cutting edge of sustainable hospitality.

We have a restaurant in house and the chefs are workign with Cleanfish (sustainable fisheries practices) Meyer Premium Beef (humane, no antibiotics, no hormones) as well as a number of local vendors in the spring/summer/fall.

Our properties energy use is 70% offset by wind power through the purchase of REC's

We have free parking on-site for all Hybrid and Electric Vehicles, and have purchased and will be installing an electric car charging station.
