To qualify for the Green Eco-Leaf Rating The Barron Brook Inn completed an audit of their property's compliance with over 70 unique eco-initiatives. Environmentally friendly measures that are reviewed include energy efficiency, water conservation, recycling, enviromentally safe cleaning, reduction of waste, ongoing maintenance, purchasing habits, plus many other factors. In it's efforts to create a more sustainable travel future and reduce their impact on our environment, The Barron Brook Inn employs 42 eco-initiatives.

At the Barron Brook Inn, we have started many eco-intiatives, after a guest with cyistic fibrosis stayed with us. Our "green" rooms feature American Clay which is a renewable resource that cleanses the air and repels dust and dirt. We also used BioShield no VOC paints in our "green" rooms. Our rooms feature cotton and bamboo for bedding, towels, and window treatments. Many of our decorative items are upcycled. We are continuing to renovate our property using environmentally friendly products, as they are very well received. Our Inn makes every effort to recycle all materials through use of the local transfer station to composting. Our Inn is designated as a showcase in New Hampshire for consumers to visit when interested in the American Clay product line. We also hope to do more seminars to make people more aware of ecofriendly products and their benefits. We are located on 31 acres, with a small garden and brook for canoeing. Our plans are to build a pavillion using a recycled structure and/or wood from our property, purchasing a wind turbine, installing eco-friendly landscaping, and utilizing solar power.
