We are the first LEED Registered Property in SC with expectations of receiving our certification at the end of 2010.

We are Three-Palmetto Certified with the SC Green Hospitality Alliance. (The highest possible certification).

We have won the Good Earthkeeping Award from the SC Hospitality Association.

Our hotel was built from the ground up with the environment and guests' health in mind. Some of our green initiatives not covered in the self audit include:

-Bicycle storage, shower and changing room available for employees

-Erosion and sediment control plan

-Parking for alternate transportation and battery recharge equipment

-Using native vegetation for landscaping

-Storm water control systems installed including underground water retention

-Solar reflective white cool roof to reduce heat island effect

-Rainwater collection system for landscape irrigation to reduce water usage

-Use of building materials and products in construction of the hotel that incorporate recycled content materials, thereby reducing the environmental impact resulting from extraction and processing of virgin materials

-Air condition and ventilation systems designed to enhance indoor air quality and provide a comfortable thermal environment

-Building designed to maximize the exposure to day lighting and natural views
