Environmentally friendly measures that are reviewed include energy efficiency, water conservation, recycling, enviromentally safe cleaning, reduction of waste, ongoing maintenance, purchasing habits, plus many other factors. In it's efforts to create a more sustainable travel future and reduce their impact on our environment, Lookout Point Inn employs 40 eco-initiatives.

    1. Restoring the property to health by planting more than 500 trees and shrubs, plus hundred of flowers. Most plantings are native to the area and disease resistant. 2. Created a sanctuary for birds, with more than 30 varieties spotted on any given day. 3 Created a sanctuary for bees and butterflies, planting flowers that attract these important creatures. 4. No curbside recycling program in our county, requiring us to load all the recyclable products and haul to center. Reduced trips to 2 per month, in order to reduce gasoline usage. 5. Repurpose broken or worn out items. 6. Donate used linens to charity. 7. Teach guests that our drinking water is great--reducing bottled water consumption 8. Speak to other innkeepers about green initiatives.
