We will continue to improve and expand our environmental efforts for the health and enjoyment of our guests. How we express this intention: 12 acre Organic Farm based on the Community Supported Agriculture model Recycling facilities around the property for paper, plastic and metal Participate in a towel and linen re-use program Use of biodegradable, non toxic cleaning products Serving organic breakfasts with as many locally grown ingredients as possible Water conservation by growing drought resistant lavender as a crop Earth friendly bath products made with our organically grown lavender oil Supporting the Montanita Co-Op, a community-owned, organic natural foods store, by purchasing the majority of our food items there Durable instead of disposable service items such as table ware and serving pieces Using compact fluorescent light bulbs to reduce electricity consumption Use of durable cotton towels and linens in rooms to reduce VOC emissions Supporting the local community by participating in local organizations, providing community information to guests, and utilizing locally made items Educating and training our staff and guests about green environmental program Bicycle rental to encourage a low emission vacation |
