Shephards is a great place for people to go to dance and drink. They have a great Tiki bar on the gulf and an inside bar that both play great music. It is loud and sleeping is very difficult until the bars close. The place is very well maintained but old and the rooms and pool are small. Clearwater Beach is a short walk away. Not a good place for kids.

excellent room good view, all round very good my only gripe is that considering it is a beach resort, they want to charge you for sunbeds on the beach.

Great place to stay. Nice big rooms, lots of entertainment, nice pool, food was good, drinks were costly. There were a lot of young people on Memorial Day. We are in our late 50's but didn't feel out of place. Comfortable beds. Would stay there again, definitely.

Pool view rooms need update. Faucets barely work, faucet handle was broken. Carpet was filthy. Could feel all the springs in the bed. Outdoor spa was kept too hot for most people to tolerate. Shampoo dispenser had unknown object floating in it.

Stayed at the Property - May-2006
We have stayed at this hotel the past two years in one of the two bedroom suites. The view from our balcony is breathtaking. There are dolphins jumping in and out of the water at all times of the day. A manatee crept up and started swimming right with us!!!! The Margarita Grill is VERY good for lunch. The music and dancing at the tiki bar and nightclub at night are incredible.The only thing that could be improved is the actual restaurant prices. There is an extra gratuity added on for any table over 5 which seems a little drastic to me, I would recommend this Hotel to anyone!!!!!!!!!!
