My wife and I was excitied about getting a room that spelled luxury! This hotel was beautiful on the outside but the rooms were terrible. They allow pets to stay there and of course we had a room where a pet stayed!! The carpet stunk and we had to asked for another room, by the way it was a hassle. After, we got our room changed it was time to eat. The cafe was closed so we had to leave the hotel and find something downstown.
After that we decided to go swimming for such a big place only one pool and a small spa. You guess it. No room.

This was on of the nicest resorts that I have ever stayed at. I was celebrating my 50th Birthday and I wanted it to be special, I could not have asked for a better resort. I am a travel consultant who does sight inspections on properties
so I am pretty picky. I could not find one morsel out of place. From an inpeccable staff to huge oversized rooms, with a beautiful ocean view across the street, this place was heaven. The resort is also pet friendly and they make sure that this area is in a certain wing. This resort gets an A+ in my book!!!

It's a nice hotel, everyone's very nice and helpful. The problem was we woke up at 7am due to construction in the hotel...they were remodeling their spa and gym! OUCH!

We stayed here for two nights, we loved it!! The staff went over and beyond to help us with anything we needed. Room service even sent us food that wasn"t even on the menu. The only thing that we didn't like was we paid for a room with a view and we had a small view of the ocean, but none the less we will DEFINITELY be back!!

Large rooms & nice staff

We had a great time at the Doubletree. Right across the street from the ocean, with a great view. Huge pool. Very nice rooms. Located near the central shopping district. Very nice restaurant and Sunday brunch. Would definitely return.

We were happy with the resort and the service. There were 2 weddings so you may want to ensure your room will not be bothered by such events(we had a ocean view/pool view and had no issues). We only asked them to turn down morning music in pool area and 10 minutes later it was off. Very helpful check-in host and only 1 mile from State st/Wharf, a 25cent shuttle takes you there..We took the train there from LA and it was nice..

If you want to be close to everything, but far enough a way for a quiet, peaceful stay, this is the place. We've stayed here five times both with our kids and without them and every time it has been wonderful. It is too bad they hiked the prices so much, but when you compare it to any other hotel near the beach-this is the best place to stay. We love it.
