Green Eco-Leaf™ Rating System
iStayGreen.org utilizes a proprietary rating system to rank the environmental friendliness of lodging properties. The purpose of the rating system is to give iStayGreen.org visitors a simple and effective method to find and compare the "Green" initiatives of lodging properties world wide.
The Green Eco-Leaf™ Rating System is not a substitute for in-depth ranking programs such as The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™, Green Seal, Florida Green Lodging Program or other similar rating schemes. Ratings awarded by such organizations impacts the overall property rating.
Many of the factors considered in our ranking algorithm are listed below. Through our independent research combined with the weighted average of our Member's Eco-Reviews a ranking of 0 - 5 Green Eco-Leafs™ is established. The more leafs . . . the more eco-friendly.
